What is MerrittEats?

MerrittEats is the best way to order food online. We're here to help you easily find and order delicious food from your favorite restaurants so you can get back to your busy life. We've modernized food ordering to provide you the convenience, control, and accuracy of ordering online. No more pamphlets, paper menus, or repeating yourself on the phone.


You can now conveniently find the restaurants you want, place a pickup or delivery order online and send it electronically to the restaurant. You can pay with credit card, bank card or debit card online.

Placing an Order


How do I order from a restaurant using MerrittEats?

Step 1: Choose a restaurant

MerrittEats will display the restaurants that deliver to your location. You can also indicate what time you would like the food for. From the available options, select the restaurant you would like.


Step 2: Place your order

Once you’ve selected your restaurant, it’s time to choose your food!  Browse the restaurant’s menu and select your food and drink choices.  Once you’ve finished adding your favourite meal items (and don’t forget the dessert), press on the “Checkout” button.


Step 3: Checkout

Confirm your order and pay online. Your order is immediately sent to the restaurant and you will receive a confirmation email telling you the estimated time your food will be ready for pick-up/delivery.


How do I know if the restaurant received my order?

After submitting your order, you will see the MerrittEats Thank You page. This means that your order has been instantly transmitted to the restaurant.


Once you receive an order confirmation email from us, the restaurant has received and confirmed your order.


Additionally, if the order was successfully placed it will appear in your Order History.

How do I know if the restaurant accepted my order?

After submitting your order, you will see the MerrittEats confirmation and order tracking page. This means that your order has been instantly transmitted to the restaurant.  You can view the status of your order here

What happens if the restaurant does not accept my order?

Occasionally a restaurant becomes too busy and cannot accept your order. If this happens, MerrittEats will contact you as quickly as possible via phone or email.  If you paid online with your credit/debit card and your order is rejected by the restaurant, you will automatically be refunded for the entire purchase.  You should see a refund in your account within 5 to 7 business days.


You can always check the status of your order anytime by accessing your Order History.

How do I use my MerrittEats voucher code?

Voucher codes can be applied to your food and beverage total upon checkout.  To use your voucher code, you will need to prepay for your order (credit / debit).  Some voucher codes may also have certain conditions and expiration dates.

Do I need to use the voucher in a single order?

Yes - unfortunately you cannot use the voucher more than once.  If your order is less than the voucher amount, the voucher will deduct up to the food and beverage total from your order.   The voucher does not apply to the delivery fee, taxes, and tip.

After Your Order is Confirmed


What if I need to cancel or modify my order after I have placed it?

Don’t panic!  MerrittEats is here to help!  Please contact us directly to modify or cancel your order. Cancellation is dependent on if the restaurant has already made the food. Chat with us and we will see if cancellation can be made possible.

Who should I contact to check the status of an order?

First, please check the Order Tracking page to confirm that your order was accepted by the restaurant. If the order has been accepted, you can view the live order updates on the Order Tracking page.


If it is prior to the estimated delivery time, please allow the restaurant to continue preparing your food. If the estimated delivery time has passed, your food should be with you shortly.


If the restaurant has GPS Tracking, please monitor the Order Tracking page for updates on your order.


If it is passed the estimated time range of delivery and your food has not yet arrived, you can send us an email.

What should I do if my food arrived and something is not right?

You can confirm the details of the order you placed either by checking the order confirmation email that we sent you, or by viewing the order in your Order History.


The restaurant is responsible for preparing and packaging your food.  If something is incorrect or you have feedback, please let us know and we will work with the restaurant to make things right. Send us an email with the details of your order and your order number and we’ll help you out!

Checkout, Pricing, and Payment


Do I pay any fees to use MerrittEats?

Not at all!  MerrittEats is 100% free to use with no hidden fees to browse menus and order from our partner restaurants.

Is there a delivery fee or minimum purchase required to make an order?

Each of our partner restaurants determine their own delivery fees and/or order minimum. This can be viewed for each restaurant on the Step 2, Choose a restaurant phase, or after you select a restaurant, it can be seen in the order summary box on the right-hand side of your screen.  Alternatively, you can enter your address on the homepage and a list of available restaurants and their associated delivery fees will appear.

How much should I tip for delivery?

Your hard working independent Food Courier receives a delivery fee and tip from a common pool. It’s truly up to you on how much you would like to tip whether online or by cash.

Is it safe to pay with a credit card on MerrittEats?

Yes, MerrittEats employs all security standards and uses leading North American payment providers, to deliver secure and reliable payment solutions that make the customer experience convenient and dependable.

Managing Your Account


I forgot my password, what should I do?

If you forgot your password, please click to reset my password to reset it. You will then need to provide your registered email address so that we can send you an email that allows you to reset your password.

I forgot my username, what should I do?

Your username is simply your email address. If you do not have an account yet, click to create an account

Where can I view my previous orders?

All of your previous orders can be viewed by accessing your Order History in your user account folder.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password in your Account Settings when logged in.
